Outstanding Music Educator Awards
The Outstanding Music Educator Awards have been recognizing excellence in the music education profession since 1989. Since the inception over 200 educators from the Chicagoland and Michiana regions have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to Music Education. Peers and community members nominate one another for these awards, which are then selected by a committee comprised of all of the previous award recipients. In the Chicagoland region, the committee also selects the John Paynter Lifetime Achievement Award, which is dedicated to our first guest speaker at the 1989 awards program, Mr. John Paynter of Northwestern University.
